Description
The SMC name derives from SubMiniature C (the third subminiature design). The SMC design was developed in the 1960's. SMC has threaded coupling with 10-32 threads. The SMC connector offers the same low cost and small size as the SMB connector, but the SMC screw-on mating provides extra mating stability. In addition the SMC connector offers extended frequency range DC to 10 GHz. SV Microwave’s SMC connectors conform to the interface dimensions of MIL-STD-348 and offer customers another choice as they provide intermatability with other connector suppliers. Some of the applications SMC connectors as used in include cable assemblies, PC/LAN, surge protection, and video systems.
