Zygo Corporation Sapphire Optical Windows

Description
Applications ZYGO has a long tradition of manufacturing custom-made sapphire optical windows for a wide variety of applications, including, but not limited to: Aircraft windows Submarine windows FLIR Medical/Life Sciences Industrial OEM Intelligence, surveillance & reconnaissance (ISR) Wavelengths Sapphire optical windows are useful for UV, visible, and IR wavelengths, with transmission from less than 200 nm out beyond 5 microns. In addition to processing sapphire substrates, ZYGO's in-house coating facilities are capable of a wide variety of coatings for sapphire. Sapphire windows can be provided with or without thin film coatings. Gridding is also available in conjunction with ZYGO coatings. Infrared (IR) windows Visible windows Ultra-violet (UV) windows Sizes ZYGO processes sapphire optical windows up to 340 mm in diameter, and larger. Window size is limited primarily by the availability of the size of the sapphire blanks. Materials ZYGO manufactures sapphire to the highest industry standards. Our sapphire finishing has been shown to have superior toughness and strength due to ZYGO's proprietary techniques. Sapphire is second only to diamond in terms of hardness for window materials. The physical and optical characteristics of sapphire make it an ideal material for windows that are exposed to the most severe environments. In addition to sapphire, ZYGO has the capability to process a wide range of materials to fabricate optical windows. Other window products include, but are not limited to: Cleartran windows (water-clear Zinc Sulfide - ZnS) Germanium windows Glass windows (fused silica, BK7, etc.) Silicon windows Zinc selenide windows (ZnSe)
