Anti-Rat Heme Oxygenase 1 (HO-2) antiserum #2
General Information
Heme oxygenase is the rate-limiting microsomal enzyme in the heme degradative pathway. Heme oxygenase catalyzes the NADPH, O2 and cytochrome P450 reductase dependent oxidation of heme to form equimolar biliverdin, carbon monoxide, a putative neurotransmi

Antigen
13-aa peptide from rat HO2 (1); Designation (HO22-P, control peptide) coupled to KLH; epitope location ~ N-terminus
SpCrossreactivity
The Human HO23-P sequence is 100% conserved in mouse, rat, human HO-2. HO23-P is also greatly conserved in HO-1. High sequence conservation is observed in Euryoxic fish, puffer fish. Cyanobacteria, and plant read Alga Heme oxygenases. So this antibody is likely to crossreact with HO-2 and HO-1 from many species. Antibody cross-reactivity in various species has not been studied.
