Anti-Mouse Glucose Transp. 8 (Glut-8) antiserum # 1
General Information
Glut-8 (mouse 477-aa) is found in adult testis and placenta. FUNCTION: Insulin-regulated facilitative glucose transporter. Binds cytochalasin B in a glucose-inhibitable manner. Seems to be a dual-specific sugar transporter as it is inhibitable by fructo
SugApplications

Antigen
11-aa peptide from Mouse Glut-6; (Gene Accession #Q9JIF3) Designation (GT81-P, or control peptide) conjugated to KLH
SpCrossreactivity
Mouse GT81-P peptide sequence is 90% conserved in rat human and bovine Glut-8. No significant sequence homology is seen with other transporters. Antibody crossreactivity in various species is not established. Control peptide, because of its low mol. Wt (<3 kDa), is not suitable for Western. It should be used for ELISA or antibody blocking experiments (use 5-10 ug control peptide per 1 ug of aff pure IgG or 1 ul antiserum) to confirm antibody specificity
