The CM-MSS series are thermistor motor protection relays designed to monitor motor winding temperatures using PTC sensors, preventing overheating and motor damage. The relays feature dynamic interrupted wire detection, short-circuit monitoring, and status indication via front-face LEDs for fault diagnostics. They are available with push-in (Easy Connect) or cage clamp wiring and support a control supply voltage of 24-240 V AC/DC. The series meets IEC/EN 60947-8:2013-07 and IEC/EN 60255-1 standards, holds ATEX Ex II(2) GD certification for hazardous locations, and includes GL approval for marine applications. All variants support manual reset and non-volatile fault storage.
The thermistor motor protection relays of the CM-MSx.xx range monitor the winding temperature of motors which have PTC temperature sensors installed. These sensors are incorporated in the motor windings thus measuring the motor heat directly. This direct temperature measurement enables the thermistor motor protection relays to evaluate various motor conditions such as overheating, overload and insufficient cooling. Depending on the product also the ATEX approval is available for the use in hazardous areas.
