Voith Turbo Inc. Fluid Coupling 487T TurboSyn

Description
Combination of a hydrodynamic start-up coupling with a mechanical clutch coupling. The inner wheel of the TurboSyn consists of separate segments. These are attached to the hub in such a way that they can swivel outwards radially once the driven machine has been accelerated by mainly hydrodynamic means. A friction connection is created between the inner wheel and the coupling shell. Result: the various speeds of the outer and inner parts are synchronized with each other. Nominal operation is slip-free, i.e. lower energy requirements and higher power transmission.
