Universal 630 (17Cr-4Ni) is a martensitic precipitation - age hardening stainless steel alloy. Alloy 630 can be welded with all welding processes without preheat; however, to obtain weld metal properties comparable to those of the parent metal a suitable postweld heat treatment is required.
