Description
North finder is mainly used to find true north automatically. After get heading angle, if north finding inertial navigation start to move, it could output continuous changing dynamic tilt angle and heading angle. Polaris-II uses low speed drift MEMS gyro to find north, built-in IMU is used to measure tilt angle and direction reckoning. It has features of miniature, low power consumption, long usage life, high reliability. Its wide temperature screen could display true north angle, 2 axis tilt angle at real time. After finding north one time, it could enter real-time relative heading measuring(relative measurement has 0.1°/min drift, we advise to find north after 10 min). it is used in coal industry professional true north measure. It is equipped with serial port aviation connector. The serial port real time data could be got by up-computer for late-analysis. Advantage over compass: compass is easily to be affected by interference, and can not measure the heading against earth magnetic field, also it is hard for it to compensate the magnetic declination. Advantage over GPS or gyro based device: those device is usually much heavier and bigger, and with no good anti-impact performance, not suitable for on-site working.
