• On helical knurled pins, a 30° knurl causes the pin to rotate as it enters the hole creating more surface contact with the host. This results in higher friction forces, greater engagement and improved resistance to back out.
• The pin should always be harder than the host. If additional hardness is required to keep the knurls from shearing, the pins can be case hardened if .125” (3 mm) or larger.
