XP05 is a hazardous location, explosion-proof, spring-loaded RTD assembly designed for installation in flammable atmospheres, featuring a 316 stainless steel sheath and available with aluminum or stainless steel explosion-proof connection heads. It meets CSA certification for Class I Division I & II, Groups B, C, D; DIP Class II Division I, Groups E, F, G; Class III; and IP66 when installed in a thermowell. The assembly includes a spring-loaded element with flame path to ensure positive contact within the thermowell, allowing for 1/4 inch compression. Temperature sensors are available with various RTD elements and tolerances, including Grade B and Class A, operating from -200 to 600°C, depending on configuration.
Explosion-proof (XP) thermocouples and RTDs are designed for use in hazardous locations in refineries, storage facilities and gas processing plants. These sensors are built to extinguish flames inside the device, eliminating the potential for ignition of flammable mixtures in the surrounding atmosphere.
Depending on the construction desired, these sensors are FM and CSA approved for installation in Class I, Division I or II environments.
