FH-084-8ZC is a self-clinching pin in the FH/FHS/FHA series, designed for permanent installation in aluminum, steel, or stainless steel sheets as thin as 0.020 inches. These pins install with standard pressing equipment, embedding their heads to form a flush, secure assembly with high torque-out and pushout resistance. The FH series supports sheets with hardness up to HRB 80 and HB 150, with variations FHS and FHA tailored for softer materials at HRB 70 and HRB 50 respectively. The part is unthreaded and available in aluminum, steel, or stainless steel. The pin's head design allows installation close to sheet edges, and minor surface appearance variations do not affect function. All variants share these core installation and performance characteristics.
PEM® self-clinching studs are installed by placing them in properly sized holes in the sheets and squeezing into place with any standard press. The squeezing action embeds the head of the stud into the sheet. The metal displaced by the head flows smoothly and evenly around the ribs and into the annular groove – creating a flushhead assembly and securely locking the stud into the sheet with high torque-out and pushout resistances.
