Blind-threaded self-clinching standoffs install permanently into metal sheets as thin as 0.63 mm with a flush, closed-end barrel, providing mounting without access to the rear side. The BSO series features a threaded bore and is suitable for steel or aluminum sheets with Rockwell B hardness of 80 or less. It accepts a #10-32 thread and has a minimum hole size of 0.050 inches, a minimum distance to edge of 0.31 inches, and a barrel length of 0.375 inches. The part has a closed-end barrel for flush appearance and is designed for clinching into softer metals.
These standoffs, which use the proven self-clinching design, install with a squeeze in properly sized round holes - and become permanently mounted in the thin sheet.
When blind-threaded types are used, outer sheet surfaces are not only flush, but closed as well.
