The pH value and the temperature can be stored directly on the SD card (Excel file) or transferred via the RS-232 interface directly from the mud pH meter to a PC. For this we optionally offer a software and the suitable RS-232 interface cable as an accessory. Temperature compensation is either manual or automatic via the supplied temperature sensor. All this allows a fast and reliable pH measurement. The mud pH meter has a three-point calibration, which is performed automatically. It can be determined with the combination meter, the pH, the temperature or the REDOX potential (ORP). For the latter measurement parameters, however, a REDOX electrode must also be ordered. Here we recommend the ORP electrode ORP-14. The mud pH meter is battery powered (6 x 1.5V batteries are included). Measurement of pH in slurries used to be a challenging and complicated process, since the substance itself consists of many different elements and particles of organic and inorganic origin; in addition, it is influenced by a huge number of factors: climate, fertilizers, contaminants, presence of water, elements in the soil etc. pH meter may be applied for testing slurry itself or for testing slurry sample, prepared for testing certain soil quality. The main problem in dealing with slurries is a very short life of the electrodes which, because of extreme clogging and contamination, serve only for a very short time after being applied in the substances. Modern pH meters offer a range of accessories which makes the measuring process easier: robust electrodes, frequent calibration possibility, digital screen on which the measured values may be immediately seen, material resistant to possible abrasive processes and changes of medium from acidic to highly alkaline, temperature element. The sensor must be suitable for working under harsh conditions.
