Newport MKS Fiber Optic Positioner, XYZθxθyθz, Connectorized, FPH-CA Series FPR2-C1A

Description
The FPR1-C2A Fiber Optic Positioner provides six degrees of precision positioning for connectorized standard or polarization-preserv ing fibers. We’ve improved these mounts by adding high-resolution 100 TPI adjustment screws and including new larger diameter knobs with an integral hex hole for smooth adjustment with increased sensitivity. Fibers are aligned in six axes (XYZθXθYθZ). Axial Z motion is accomplished without rotation of the fiber by a knurled knob with a precision 80 TPI thread. Rotational motion about the fiber axis is achieved by rotating the FPH-CA Series Fiber Chucks (sold separately) which are graduated in 15° increments. The FPR2-C1A incorporates our new zero-free play XY mechanism ensuring accurate positioning and enhanced long-term stability, reducing drift over both time and temperature. New independent locks for each axis of translation and rotation securely lock the mechanism, not just the actuator screws, maintaining stable alignment. Engaging or disengaging each lock on these models has negligible influence on the other axes. All FP Series Fiber Optic Positioners have threaded holes in their base for post mounting. The FPR2-C1A is also provided with a slotted base plate for mounting directly to an optical table. The base plate can be mounted on either side of the positioner. Precision Control for Bare or Connectorized Fibers FP Series Fiber Optic Positioners provide three- to six-axis precision positioning with an 80 TPI adjustment screw for Z positioning and 100 TPI screws for all other axes. The XY range of motion for these positioners is ±0.063 in. (±1.6 mm), and the Z range is ±0.14 in. (±3.6 mm) or ±0.125 (±3.2 mm), depending on the model. Three- and five-axis positioners are available for bare fibers (models FP-1A and FP-2A). For bare polarization-preserv ing fibers, models FPR-1A and FPR-2A support the same bare fiber chucks as FP-1A and FP-2A do and also include an additional rotational positioning about the fiber axis. For connectorized fibers, models FPR1-C1A and FPR2-C1A provide four- and six-axis positioning control, respectively. As the models for connectorized fibers feature rotational control about the fiber axis, they are suitable for polarization-preserv ing fibers as well. A single positioner supports multiple chuck styles, all available separately from the Fiber Chucks and Holders family. Positioners Lock Motion for Stable Alignment All bare fiber positioners feature position locks for X and Y axes. The connectorized fiber positioners FPR1-C1A and FPR2-C1A incorporate zero-free play XY mechanism to ensure accurate positioning and better long-term stability, reducing drift over both time and temperature. Independent locks for each axis of motion securely lock the mechanism, not just the actuator screws, maintaining stable optical alignment. Engaging or disengaging each lock has negligible influence on the other axes. Mount to Optical Posts All FP Series Fiber Optic Positioners have threaded 8-32 and M4 holes in their base for mounting to optical posts. FPR2-C1A is also provided with a slotted base plate for mounting directly to an optical table, which can be mounted on either side of the positioner.

Precision Control for Bare or Connectorized Fibers

FP Series Fiber Optic Positioners provide three- to six-axis precision positioning with an 80 TPI adjustment screw for Z positioning and 100 TPI screws for all other axes.

For bare polarization-preserving fibers, models FPR-1A and FPR-2A support the same bare fiber chucks as FP-1A and FP-2A do and also include an additional rotational positioning about the fiber axis.

For connectorized fibers, models FPR1-C1A and FPR2-C1A provide four- and six-axis positioning control, respectively. As the models for connectorized fibers feature rotational control about the fiber axis, they are suitable for polarization-preserving fibers as well.

A single positioner supports multiple chuck styles, all available separately from the Fiber Chucks and Holders family.

Positioners Lock Motion for Stable Alignment

All bare fiber positioners feature position locks for X and Y axes.

Mount to Optical Posts

All FP Series Fiber Optic Positioners have threaded 8-32 and M4 holes in their base for mounting to optical posts. FPR2-C1A is also provided with a slotted base plate for mounting directly to an optical table, which can be mounted on either side of the positioner.
