The 68938 Power Supply is a reliable and economical DC power supply. It provides highly regulated constant current to a Quartz Tungsten Halogen (QTH) lamp or infrared (IR) emitter rated up to 140W. Light ripple of less than 0.4% rms is achievable when using this power supply with Oriel® lamps, housings and rod mounts. A precision output control knob allows current adjustments to be made from 0 to 12 amps. The knob features a locking collar, eliminating the need to readjust the current once the desired set point is reached.
When turning on the light source, its soft-start feature ramps up the current gradually to prevent damage and prolong the life of a QTH lamp. The 68938 includes a safety interlock which disables the light source if encountering situations such as an open lamp housing, over temperature condition or incomplete electrical connection. The lamp or emitter voltage may be monitored using a simple pushbutton switch. This easy-to-operate power supply provides solid performance for many common applications.
