Newport MKS Right-Angle Prism, Precision, N-BK7, 12.7 mm, λ/4, 650-1000 nm 05BR08AR.16

The 05BR08AR.16 Precision Right-Angle Prism is precision polished to tight tolerances for more demanding applications. This AR.16 coated N-BK7 prism is 0.5 x 0.5 inch (12.7 x 12.7 mm) and 0.5 inch (12.7 mm) thick. It has a λ/4 surface flatness and a 20-10 surface quality. Newport's AR.16 broadband NIR antireflection coating is applied to the three prism faces and supports a 650 to 1000 nm wavelength range. The antireflection coating reduces surface losses yet does not affect total internal reflection or the acceptance angle. This prism is recommended for general laboratory use in the NIR range. By means of total internal reflection (TIR), a right-angle prism may be used as a 90° reflector or as a 180° retroreflector. Except for reflection losses from the entry and exit faces, TIR exhibits 100% reflectivity over a very large wavelength range.
