Primarily utilized in applications that require high thermal or electric conductivity. The alloy offers good strength and hardness characteristics coupled with conductivity in the range of 45-60 percent of copper with ultimate tensile and hardness properties approaching 140 ksi and RB 100 respectively.
Typical Uses for C17500 Beryllium Copper:
Typical Uses for C95500 Nickel Aluminum Bronze "9D":
High electrical and thermal conductivity, good corrosion resistance and solderability. C11000 is used for welding fixtures, anodes, bus bar in electrical power installations, ground straps, commutators and current carrying hardware. Its inherent fabrication qualities readily permit it to be bent, soldered, drilled, peened, riveted and formed to fit almost any design specification. This copper has excellent hot workability. It becomes soft and ductile at a red heat.
Typical Uses for C11000 Electrolytic Tough Pitch Copper:
C36000 Free Machining Brass / Free Cutting Brass is ideally suited for high speed machining operations with its superior machinability, thread rolling and knurling characteristics. Its machinability rating of 100 is standard against which all other copper alloys are rated. It is easily soldered or brazed and has good resistance to corrosion.
Typical Uses for C36000 Free Machining Brass / Free Cutting Brass:
C17500/C17510 offer a combination of high electrical and thermal conductivity with good strength compared to most copper based alloys. C17500 alloy is the mirror image of alloy C17510 in terms of its properties and characteristics. The alloys differ in that C17500 specifies a cobalt alloying addition (2.40-2.70 %) and alloy 17510 specifies a nickel alloying addition (1.40-2.20 %), but their performance are the same.
C95400 Aluminum Bronze is the most popular, all purpose aluminum bronze alloy. It provides high yield and tensile strength, good ductility, weldability and exceptional resistance to wear, fatigue and deformation under shock or overload. Typical applications include bearings, gears, valve components, wearplate and wearstrip. Conforms to continuous cast specification ASTM B505 and centrifugal cast specification ASTM B271.
Typical Uses for C95400 Aluminum Bronze:
Used extensively for cap style resistance welding electrodes. Evidence suggests that it can provide less sticking and resist deformation longer than its copper-chrome counterpart in some specific situations.
Typical Uses for C18150 Copper Chromium Zirconium:
Used in resistance welding machine electrodes, seam welding wheels, electrical switch gear, electrode holder jaws, cable connectors, current carrying arms and shafts, circuit breaker parts, arcing and bridging parts, grid side rods in electron tubes, molds, spot welding tips, flash welding electrodes, electrical and thermal conductors requiring greater strength than copper, switch contacts.
Typical Uses for C18200 Chromium Copper:
