Perseus – The Revolution in STA-FTIR Coupling - Perseus STA 449 F1/F3
Perseus STA 449 F1/F3 - Coupling Evolved Gas Analysis (EGA) is the perfect tool for characterizing the thermal behavior of organic and inorganic solids or liquids in more detail and elucidating the chemistry behind the processes under investigation. The new Perseus STA 449 F1/F3 is an unmatched alliance between two successful instruments: the NETZSCH STA 449 F1/F3 Jupiter® and the ALPHA FT-IR spectrometer by Bruker Optics. Its design is unprecedented and sets a benchmark for state-of-the-art coupling systems. Due to its robustness, high performance, compactness and attractive price, this combination instrument has the potential to find its way into any laboratory – be it in universities or industry, across the spectrum from inorganics to polymers. Any existing NETZSCH STA 449 F1/F3 system can be upgraded to the new Perseus. Affordable Gas Analysis The unrivaled instrument alliance serves as an innovative coupling technique, even for a narrow budget. It has what it takes to become an integral part of any laboratory and indispensible for its future needs. No Liquid Nitrogen required The DTGS detector used (DTGS = deuterated triglycine sulphate) does not require any liquid nitrogen cooling. This system is therefore particularly well-suited for test runs with an autosampler (ASC) or for measurements of longer duration. No Separate Transfer Line No separate transfer line is necessary, nor is any separate heating controller. The built-in heated gas cell is directly connected to the gas outlet of the furnace via a heated tube. The low volume of this short gas path guarantees fast response and is quite advantageous in cases where condensable evolved gases are present. Space-Saving Design As neither a separate FT-IR spectrome-ter nor a control unit for heating the transfer line is necessary, the footprint of the Perseus STA 449 F1/F3 coupling is identical to that of an STA 449 F1/F3 Jupiter® alone. This makes the coupled system ideally suited for labs in which space is scarce.

Affordable Gas Analysis

The unrivaled instrument alliance serves as an innovative coupling technique, even for a narrow budget. It has what it takes to become an integral part of any laboratory and
indispensible for its future needs.

No Liquid Nitrogen required

The DTGS detector used (DTGS = deuterated triglycine sulphate) does not require any liquid nitrogen cooling. This system is therefore particularly well-suited for test runs with an autosampler (ASC) or for measurements of longer duration.

No Separate Transfer Line

No separate transfer line is necessary, nor is any separate heating controller. The built-in heated gas cell is directly connected to the gas outlet of the furnace via a heated tube. The low volume of this short gas path guarantees fast response and is quite advantageous in cases where condensable evolved gases are present.

Space-Saving Design

As neither a separate FT-IR spectrome-ter nor a control unit for heating the transfer line is necessary, the footprint of the Perseus STA 449 F1/F3 coupling is identical to that of an STA 449 F1/F3 Jupiter® alone. This makes the coupled system ideally suited for labs in which space is scarce.
