The AVCP-50 is a high-precision current probe designed for measuring low currents in the range of microamperes and milliamperes using a series resistor and differential amplifier. It offers a DC continuous current range of ±0.004 A, a voltage range of -5 V to 80 V, and a gain of 500 V/A with a bandwidth of DC to 2 MHz and a rise time of 175 ns or less. Its DC accuracy is ±3% of reading, with a lowest measurable current of 38 µA at ±3% accuracy. Insertion impedance is 49.53 Ω at 1 MHz and 49.91 Ω at 100 MHz. The probe has a maximum DC continuous current damage limit of 200 mA and typical displayed RMS noise of 9.2 µA rms or less at 20 MHz bandwidth limit. It is compatible with most commercial oscilloscopes and digitizers via BNC connection and does not require degaussing.
AVCP-series current probes are based on a series resistor and differential amplifier which generates an output voltage proportional to the current flowing through the resistor. Large series resistors are used to create a large voltage drop in order to measure extremely low currents in the order of uA and mA. Unlike current probes based on Hall effect sensors, AVCP-series current probes do not need to be demagnetized (degaussed) and can be used more easily over long periods of time.
