The 1878G is a triple-stub coaxial tuner designed for impedance matching in RF and microwave systems, operating from 0.2 to 0.5 GHz with Type N connectors. It has a maximum stub travel of 30.0 inches (76.2 cm) and inter-stub spacing of 4.6 inches (11.7 cm), enabling broad impedance matching capability. Power handling is specified at 10:1 VSWR and 25°C, with a continuous wave rating dependent on frequency as shown in the power vs. frequency graph.
Stub tuners are impedance transformers designed to introduce a variable shunt susceptance into a coaxial transmission line. Maury offers a comprehensive line of broadband stub tuners designed to satisfy the majority of applications whether its to maximize power transfer between a generator and a load or for introducing a mismatch into an otherwise matched system. Spacing between the stubs of multiple-stub tuners will determine its range of impedances that can be matched and the ease of tuning.
