Conventional ball transfer is structurally more prone to get dusts inside, so once it goes in, it is difficult to drop out, so it showed weaknesses during the operations in harsh environment such as underwater (sea water, muddy water etc.), oil, dust etc. Planeveyor dust discharge type uses the advantages of the original spherical surface (PAT.P) to drill holes (slits) in the receiving part of the small balls and the ball cover part to discharge dust and water that got inside.
