Linde North America, Inc. HFO Refrigerants

Description
HFO (hydrofluoro-olefin) refrigerants are the fourth generation of fluorine-based refrigerants. HFC refrigerants are composed of hydrogen, fluorine and carbon atoms connected by single bonds between the atoms. HFO refrigerants are composed of hydrogen, fluorine and carbon atoms, but contain at least one double bond between the carbon atoms. The first HFO, currently being developed by DuPont and Honeywell, is HFO 1234yf, which is a low GWP (Global Warming Potential) replacement for R134a for potential use in mobile air conditioning (MAC) systems in the automotive sector. These products are categorised to have zero ODP (Ozone Depletion Potential) and lower GWP than HFCs such as R134a. Therefore these products offer a more environmentally friendly alternative than CFCs, HCFCs and HFCs. These products are beginning to be introduced into the market, however availability is limited. Please contact us for more details on current status.
