Philips Emergency Lighting Low-Profile Fluorescent Emergency Ballasts (FEBs) LP550

Description
Technological advancements in fluorescent lamp and electronic ballast designs have led to the development of innovative, space-saving fluorescent fixtures. Philips Bodine LP Series low-profile fluorescent emergency ballasts accommodate such fixtures. They are ideal for pendant, cove, recessed indirect/direct, surface-mount, low-profile linear and other space-limited lighting applications. LP Series emergency ballasts can be mounted with a slim AC ballast inside the ballast channel and are UL Listed for factory or field installation. Ideal for Office, Hospitality, Healthcare, Educational & Retail Applications LP emergency ballast dimensions allow ballast channel installation into space-limited fixtures. Low heights and narrow widths permit LPs to be paired with newer electronic AC ballasts. Because LPs are inconspicuous, they preserve the fixture/room aesthetics as was originally designed while also reducing the likelihood of vandalism to the emergency lighting unit. Low-profile; 1-lamp operation for HO T5s Initial Light Output: 390 - 700 Lumens Illumination Time: 90 Minutes Dimensions: 18.5" L x 1.18" W x 1.18" H Dual Input Voltage: 120/277 VAC, 60 Hz AC Input Current: 180 mA AC Input Power Rating: 3.2 W

Fluorescent Emergency Ballast LP550
Because of environmental concerns about mercury and the need to comply with standards set by the Environmental Protection Agency, most lamp manufacturers have reduced the mercury content in their products. However, low mercury lamps, while environmentally responsible, have created challenges to emergency lighting, and the lower the mercury content, the more of a challenge they become. Mercury affects the starting and operating characteristics of lamps in both emergency and normal modes. Philips Emergency Lighting has observed problems such as reduced lumen output and improper color rendering when low mercury compact lamps, paired with fluorescent emergency ballasts, operate in the emergency mode with a DC output. Any emergency ballast that runs a compact lamp with DC could be subject to these issues. In response to problems associated with low mercury compacts and emergency lighting, Philips Emergency Lighting introduced a line of fluorescent emergency ballasts compatible with low mercury lamps. Our green product line makes it easy for buildings to “go green” without compromising emergency lighting requirements.
