Philips Emergency Lighting Flourescent Backup Ballast GEN1

Description
APPLICATION The GEN1 fuorescent backup ballast works in conjunction with an AC ballast that is supplemented with an auxiliary emergency generator to operate one lamp at high illumination between the time AC power is lost and the auxiliary emergency generator provides power. This time is typically less than 10 seconds; however, should the generator fail to power emergency lighting, the GEN1 provides additional redundancy by ensuring uninterruptible illumination for at least 5 minutes. The backup ballast consists of a high-temperature nickel-cadmium battery, charger and electronic circuitry in one compact red case. The GEN1 can be used with one 17 - 32 W T8 tubular fuorescent lamp, one 20 - 40 W T10 or T12 tubular fuorescent lamp or one 18 - 55 W (4-pin) compact fuorescent lamp. It is compatible with most one-, two-, three- and four-lamp electronic, standard, energy-saving and dimming AC ballasts. The GEN1 is suitable for indoor locations. It is not suitable for air handling heated air outlets or wet, damp or hazardous locations. For information about specifc lamp and ballast compatibility, please call the factory. OPERATION When AC power fails, the GEN1 immediately switches to the backup mode, operating one lamp at a high lumen output for a minimum of 5 minutes. When AC power is restored via the AC main or the auxiliary generator, the GEN1 automatically returns to the charging mode. Interim lighting for generator backup systems; 1-lamp operation Initial Light Output: 1050 - 3200 Lumens Illumination Time: 5 Minutes Dual Input Voltage: 120/277 VAC, 60 Hz AC Input Current: 90 mA AC Input Power Rating: 1.5 W
