Ball Lock¬Æ Liners, part number 49708, are designed for use in workholding applications where precise locating and repeatability are critical. These liners are made from 52100 steel and feature a black oxide finish, providing durability and resistance to wear. They are heat-treated to a hardness of 62-64 Rockwell C, ensuring strength and longevity under operational conditions. The operating temperature range for these liners is from -20¬8F to 400¬8F (-30¬8C to 200¬8C). For optimal performance, it is recommended that the maximum interference fit between the bore and bushing outer diameter does not exceed 0.0005 inches (0.013 mm) to prevent binding. The design allows for repeatability of ¬±0.0005 inches (¬±0.003 mm) when using two primary liners, provided the holes for receiver bushings maintain a centerline distance tolerance of ¬±0.0002 inches (¬±0.005 mm). These specifications make the Ball Lock¬Æ Liners suitable for applications requiring high precision and reliability in machining processes.
Locating repeatability will determine if (1) primary and (1) secondary or (2) primary liners are needed. With (2) primary liners, repeatability of ±0.0005" (±0.003mm) can be maintained if the (2) holes for receiver bushings are held to a centerline distance of ±0.0002" (±0.005mm) tolerance.
Features, Benefits, & Product Specifications:
On Installation of Press Fit Liners & Back Mount Style Receiver Bushings:
To alleviate the possibility of binding the shank in the bore, the maximum interference fit between bore and bushing O.D. should not exceed 0.0005" (0.013mm).
