The Jergens Stainless Steel Spring Plunger, part number 26941, features a single-unit construction that enhances reliability by eliminating the need for a set screw, which can loosen or separate from the plunger body. This design prevents lost springs and the need for "easy-out" tools during adjustments. The plunger is made from 303 stainless steel, ensuring durability and resistance to corrosion. It has a hex drive in the rear for easy insertion and conforms to TCMA dimensional standards. The plunger is equipped with a patch-style locking element and is available in various force ratings, indicated by color-coded tips. For optimal performance, the tapped hole should be countersunk slightly larger than the plunger's major diameter. Special materials and sizes can be requested to meet specific application needs.
Jergens Spring Plungers, unlike conventional spring plungers, are machined in one piece. The spring is assembled from the top so that there is no need for a set screw. Our Spring Plungers do not have a set screw that can loosen or separate from the plunger body. The advantage is no lost springs and no need for “easy-out” tools. When adjusting Solid Drive, you can be sure the plunger body is turning and not a set screw.
