Hydraulic Institute (HI) Rotodynamic Submersible Pumps: for Hydraulic Performance, Hydrostatic Pressure, Mechanical and Electrical Acceptance Tests (ANSI/HI 11.6) A126

Description
This standard applies to customer acceptance testing of submersible pumps driven by induction motors, unless otherwise agreed or specified. Information in this standard may be applied to pumps of any size and to any pumped liquids behaving as clean cold water. This standard does not deal with the structural details of the pump or with the mechanical properties of their components. The standard covers the following submersible pump designs: Semi-permanent/pull- up/wet-pit types Dry-pit/dry-installe d types Portable/flexible discharge types Chopper/cutter/grind er types Close-coupled types Integral electric motor types This version of the submersible pump test standard represents a major departure from the previous standard in that the submersible pump shall be guaranteed and tested as a complete close-coupled unit. If pump efficiency or pump power has been guaranteed, then the pump wire-to-water efficiency or electric input power is guaranteed and tested, in addition to the mandatory flow and head test. This standard has three levels of acceptance test: grade 1 with tighter tolerance band that can be applied in three acceptance grades (1U, 1E, and 1B); grade 2 with a broader tolerance band can be applied in two acceptance grades (2B and 2U); and grade three (3B) with an even broader tolerance band. Acceptance grades 1U and 2U allow no negative tolerance. In addition, when the contract does not specify the acceptance test grade or tolerance band, this standard includes default acceptance grades that are based on specific applications and driver rated power.
