Hubbard-Hall Inc. Wax Emulsions and Acrylic Resin Rust Preventative Metal Guard® 950

Metal Guard® 950 is a wax emulsion which may be applied by dipping, spraying or brushing to produce a black hard, dry wax coating. It is used at room temperature full strength. However, if desired, it may be diluted with water for thinner films. Metal Guard® 950 can be used as added protection over black oxide finishes and all types of phosphate finishes. Metal Guard® 950 also works well over bare metal. Since it is a water emulsion of wax, parts can be processed through it without predrying. Some care should be exercised, however, to prevent too great a carry over of water which would, in time, dilute the wax emulsion resulting in a thinner deposit with lower protective quality. Metal Guard® 950 coating will air dry in a relatively short time. The drying period can be shortened by force drying with warm air or in heated spin dryers. Since the coatings dry to a hard finish, the processed parts should be racked or centrifuged, if done in baskets, to avoid parts adhering to each other. If it becomes necessary to reprocess the parts, the wax coating may be removed in a hot alkaline cleaner or vapor degreaser. Metal Guard® 950 wax emulsion can be contained in plain or lined steel tanks, stainless steel, polyproplyene, PVC or supported polyethylene tanks.
