GGB DU™ Cylindrical Bushes - Inch Size 1415 DU-B

Description
Our metal-backed, PTFE-based (polytetrafluoroethy lene) polymer bearing materials have a common structure, consisting of a metal backing bonded to a porous bronze sinter layer. This bronze sinter layer is impregnated and overlaid with the filled PTFE bearing lining. The metal backing provides mechanical strength, while the bronze sinter layer provides a strong mechanical bond between the backing and the bearing lining. This construction promotes dimensional stability and improves thermal conductivity. These polymer bearing linings, being predominantly PTFE, offer exceptionally low friction.

DU® cylindrical bushes are metal-polymer anti-friction bearings designed for dry and lubricated applications in industrial, aerospace, and automotive systems. They consist of a steel backing, a porous bronze sinter layer, and a filled PTFE sliding surface. These bushings support linear, oscillating, and rotating movements with operating temperatures between -200°C and 280°C, static load capacity of 250 N/mm², and dynamic load capacity of 140 N/mm². In dry conditions, they handle sliding speeds up to 2.5 m/s and a pU factor of 1.8 N/mm²·m/s, with a coefficient of friction between 0.02 and 0.25. They meet FAR 25.853 and FAR 25.855 for interior aircraft use. Shaft surface roughness should be 0.3-0.5 μm for dry operation and ≤0.40 μm for lubricated use, with hardened shafts (HB > 200) recommended for extended life.
