This 4-channel stepper-motor driver shield is designed for the Arduino UNO microcontroller board but is compatible with all other Arduino boards and the Raspberry Pi via the high-speed I²C interface. Typical applications include humanoid and small, wheeled rover format robots.
⢠Standard Arduino UNO Shield form factor. ⢠Each motor can be stepped in either direction a set number of steps at a set speed. ⢠Each motor can be continuously stepped at a set speed. ⢠Each motor can be stopped with holding torque or completely off. ⢠Selectable 1 or 2 phase excitation. ⢠8-bit set speed resolution. ⢠Up to 65535 set number of steps. ⢠4 shields can be linked together via I²C to control up to 16 motors. ⢠Supports all 5 to 12V unipolar (5/6-wire) stepper motors with a minimum winding resistance of 20Ω (250mA). ⢠Communication via 400kHz serial I²C bus. ⢠Jumper-selectable I²C address. ⢠Jumper-selectable I²C pull-ups (Not required for Raspberry Pi). ⢠Jumper-selectable motor power supply: +6V to +12V or +5V regulated. ⢠+5V @ 3A regulator with heatsink for motor and USB-A power supply. ⢠Up to four shields can be linked together via the I²C bus controlling up to 16 stepper-motors. ⢠Screw connector for power supply input. ⢠Power supply input: +6V to +12Vdc. ⢠USB socket provides power to an external circuit, e.g. a Raspberry PI SBC. ⢠Operating temperature range: 0 to +70°C. ⢠Dimensions: 56.25 x 53.5 x 15mm
