A 1C 4-Y48018 is a 48 pitch steel miter gear with 18 teeth, a pitch diameter of 0.375 inch, a bore diameter of 0.1875 inch, a face width of 0.1250 inch, a hub diameter of 0.406 inch, a hub length of 0.250 inch, and a hub projection of 0.080 inch. The gear has a 20° pressure angle and is designed for 90° shaft intersection. Steel construction provides durability for mechanical drives requiring precise torque transmission at right angles.
Standard straight-tooth miter gears are a type of bevel gear set that has a 1:1 ratio, identical dimensions, and the same number of teeth, allowing them to mate with one another and transmit rotational motion at a 90° angle. Although the number of teeth in a spiral miter gear set is the same, the twisting directions are different, preventing them from mating with one another. Our straight-tooth miter gears are manufactured utilizing a CNC Coniflex® interlocking cutting system. Spiral miter gears must be paired with one right-hand thread and one left-hand thread.
