The Car2X Application Unit enables a flexible and efficient Car2X communication comprising M2XPro as Continental's reliable answer to lane accurate positioning of cars based on sensor fusion of dynamic motion sensors with GPS, fitting into today’s vehicle system architecture. An intelligent algorithm and existing inertial and driving dynamics sensors are used to determine the accurate position of a car. M2XPro sensor uses an intelligent fusion algorithm to provide other control units with a vehicle’s motion information and therefore is called the Application Unit. The Sensor fusion of speed, steering angle, GPS and inertial sensor information (motion) results in fast and highly reliable signals, improved accuracy as well as relative and absolute positioning of the car. M2XPro is – together with functions for communication, security, applications etc. - part of a powerful Car2X Application Unit, which, together with the Intelligent Antenna Module as Communication Unit, builds up a complete Car2X system.
