Useful for a variety of applications, the Fluidized Bed Aerosol Generator Model 3400A aerosolizes dry powders and dusts. Using bronze beads to break up powder agglomerates, the 3400A generates a constant output in terms of aerosol concentration and size distribution. It is used in various applications such as filter testing, inhalation toxicology testing, and providing seed particles for laser-velocimetry.
The Fluidized Bed Aerosol Generator* Model 3400A is a general-purpose powder disperser. As air forces its way up through the horizontal screen and around the bronze beads and dust particles it creates a boiling action that de-agglomerates the powder. Model 3400A disperses powders over a size range from 0.5 to 40 µm, in concentrations from 10 to 100 mg/m3. A key feature of this aerosol generator is its stable output and concentration.
*Developed in cooperation with the University of Minnesota Particle Technology Laboratory.
