Gardolene V 6559 is a liquid activating pre-rinsing agent for metal surfaces to be applied prior to zinc phosphating. The pre-rinsing agent is suitable for surface activation of various metal alloys of iron, zinc, and aluminum. By activating the surface, a fine crystalline zinc phosphate coating may be generated particularly on part surfaces which have been previously treated with alkaline cleaners or pickled with acid. Gardolene V 6559 is added to the last rinse bath just prior to the zinc phosphating bath. Gardolene V 6559 is applied by either spray or immersion.
