CODESYS SoftMotion Axes (8) is a software license that extends CODESYS Control SL systems to support motion control with up to 8 real axes and 8 virtual axes. It enables single-axis and synchronized multi-axis movements, including electronic cams and gears, using certified PLCopen MotionControl function blocks. The license requires CODESYS Development System V3.5.19.10 or higher and CODESYS Control runtime V3.5.19.0 or higher, with a Floating Point Unit recommended. It supports EtherCAT and CAN/CANopen fieldbuses and integrates drive configuration, visualization templates, and a cam editor with polynomial and sine segment types. The license is activated on a software-based container or a CODESYS Key USB dongle and requires WIBU Codemeter support.
CODESYS SoftMotion Axes extends the functional range of CODESYS Control SL systems from pure logic to motion control with optional support for CNC and robotics. This license is application-based and requires at least the application-based license CODESYS Control Standard S for the PLC. With this license, up to 8 real axes, and additionally 8 virtual axes, can be controlled. The CODESYS SoftMotion package can be downloaded with the CODESYS Installer.
