Pkg of 1, 12.5% polyacrylamide gel with casein, 12+2 well, 45 μl, 13.3 x 8.7 cm (W x L), for use with Criterion and Criterion Dodeca cells
Zymogram gels contain either gelatin or casein, which are substrates for various proteases. Samples are run under denaturing but nonreducing conditions, then allowed to renature and consume the substrate. Samples with proteolytic activity can be visualized as clear bands against a blue background after Coomassie Blue R-250 staining.
Criterion precast gels include a broad selection of 13.3 x 8.7 cm polyacrylamide gels in single-use cassettes. This gel size provides reproducible, high-resolution results with fast setup, loading, and run times. Criterion gels are packaged and sold in individual units: 1–2 gels can be run in the Criterion cell and 1–12 gels can be run in the high-throughput Criterion Dodeca cell. The Criterion blotter offers a variety of convenient features, such as two electrode configurations and a convenient gel/blot assembly tray, for blotting applications.
