Pkg of 5, gel releaser for Mini-PROTEAN Tetra system, Mini-PROTEAN 3 Dodeca cell, Mini-PROTEAN 3 multi-casting chamber, and PROTEAN Plus Dodeca cell The Mini-PROTEAN® Tetra handcast systems are based on the 4-gel Mini-PROTEAN Tetra cell or the high-throughput Mini-PROTEAN® 3 Dodeca™ cell (for running up to 12 gels). The accessories for hand casting provide options for casting mini gels in a variety of thicknesses and comb configurations, and even offer handy gel stands for help in casting gels. Combs A variety of comb styles are available, including 5-, 9-, 10-, and 15-well formats. The prep/2-D comb contains a reference well and the IPG comb is designed to accommodate a 7 cm ReadyStrip™ IPG strip. These combs fit both Mini-PROTEAN Tetra and Mini-PROTEAN 3 cells. Plates for Hand Casting To hand cast a gel, you need a short plate and a spacer plate. You do not need to order spacers separately; simply select the spacer plate that has the spacer width you need (spacer plates contain spacers already joined to the plate). The short plates and the spacer plates fit both Mini-PROTEAN Tetra and Mini-PROTEAN 3 cells. Mini-PROTEAN 3 Multi-Casting Chamber Use the Mini-PROTEAN 3 multi-casting chamber to simultaneously cast up to 12 gels of 0.75, 1.0, or 1.5 mm thickness. Acrylic blocks act as space fillers when fewer than 12 gels are cast. You can cast gradient gels through a bottom-filling port with the Model 485 gradient former to ensure reproducibility. Gels cast in the multi-casting chamber can be run on any of the Mini-PROTEAN electrophoresis systems, including the Mini-PROTEAN Tetra cell.
