Bio-Rad Laboratories, Inc. Ready Gel Tris-HCl Gel 161-1394

Description
Pkg of 1, 8-16% precast linear gradient polyacrylamide gel, IPG well, 7 cm IPG strip, 8.6 x 6.8 cm (W x L), for use with Mini-PROTEAN cells The precast gels available for the Mini-PROTEAN® Tetra and Mini-PROTEAN® Dodeca™ cells are 8.6 x 6.8 cm Tris-HCl polyacrylamide gels in single-use cassettes. This gel size provides reproducible, rapid results with fast setup, loading, and run times. For 2-D applications, the Ready Gel IPG combs are designed to hold 7 cm ReadyStrip IPG strips. Ready Gel precast gels are packaged and sold in individual units: 1–4 gels can be run in the Mini-PROTEAN Tetra cell, and 1–12 gels can be run in the high-throughput Mini-PROTEAN Dodeca cell. Gel Selection Use the protein migration chart to select a gel percentage that will provide optimal resolution of your sample. Use single-percentage gels if your sample contains a limited range of molecular weights, and choose the percentage in which the proteins of interest will migrate to the lower half of the gel. Single-percentage gels provide the most effective resolution of proteins that are similar in molecular weight, and the best separation on single-percentage gels occurs in the lower half of the gel. Use gradient gels if your sample contains a broad range of molecular weights. Gradient gels provide the most effective separation for samples across the range of molecular weights, and separation is optimized along the entire length of the gel. Molecules with a range of sizes can be separated on linear gradient gels because the larger pore sizes allow resolution of larger molecules, while the decreasing pore sizes toward the bottom of the gel restrict excessive separation of small molecules.

Gel Selection

Use the protein migration chart to select a gel percentage that will provide optimal resolution of your sample.
