Beckhoff Automation LLC ED5002 | EtherCAT Terminal, 2-channel encoder interface, SSI, push-in New

Description
The ED5002 EtherCAT Terminal is an SSI master for the direct connection of two absolute transducers with Synchronous Serial Interface (SSI). Single-turn and multi-turn encoders are supported. The encoder can be supplied with 24 V DC directly via the connection points of the terminal. The EL9505 can be used for an optional 5 V DC encoder supply. Extensive parameterization options allow optimum adaptation to different encoder types. Special features: parameterization possible per channel baud rate up to max. 2 MHz coding: gray and binary data length up to 32 bits, flexibly adjustable separate evaluation of up to 8 bits in the process data The ED5002 offers a multiple transmission mode for clock pulses to check the data integrity. The distributed clocks function is used to read the position value, precisely synchronized with other processes. If the distributed clock function is disabled, the ED5002 cycles synchronously with the EtherCAT cycle. The encoder profile allows simple and fast linking of the process data to motion control applications. The ED-series EtherCAT Terminals have push-in connection technology which makes wiring easy and tool-free.
