The electrode line bushing Ex + pressure-tight type 37-94, serves to detect leakage in a shaft seal. An appropriate evaluating processor unit can indicate to the user in good time when there is a leak or when maintenance is due. The electrode line bushing can also guide signals safely through walls of flameproof encapsulated operating equipment in potentially explosive areas. The electrode consists of a threaded metal sleeve and a metal electrode one block by means of a creepage-proof insulation material. Whether the core wire and the electrode are led out of the boss side or the sleeve side is optional.
