Standard Edge II 2.54 mm high current card edge connectors with a low profile industry standard package designed for high reliability and economy. These Standard Edge II card connectors are designed to connect a daughter card to a motherboard. The contacts of these edge card connectors have a bifurcated cantilever design and are made from selectively gold plated precision formed phosphor bronze for extra strength and electrical reliability. These Standard Edge II 2.54 mm card edge connectors feature intercontact keying slots located in the card slot into which a keying plug can be inserted. This feature ensures a proper orientation with the mating daughter card which must also be slotted to accept the keying plug. The keying plug is available separately (see stock number 718-8407). Connectors with part numbers 1489162-x, 5645169-x and 5645235-x have an arrangement of kinked solder legs for a secure retention to the PCB during soldering.
These Standard Edge II 2.54 mm Card Edge Connectors are suitable for use in DC to DC converters low wattage power supplies, industrial grade card extenders and general low-cost I/O applications that require durable/rugged card edge contacts
