One Component Low Viscosity, Optically Clear UV Curable -- UV19

Master Bond Polymer System UV19 is a newly developed UV curable, low viscosity optically clear compound specifically designed for high performance laminating, sealing, bonding and coating. This remarkable acrylic based polymer composition can effectively replace conventional heat and/or solvent based laminating adhesives for bonding and sealing clear films, sheets etc to various other films, paper and foil substrates at substantially higher speeds and lower cost. The UV19 laminating compound can be applied and cured at line speeds as high as 80-100 ft/minute with commercially available UV lamps. Minimum bondline thicknesses of 001"/003" are recommended. The adhesive is typically applied to the clear film and then nipped onto the second substrate followed by UV irradiation through the clear film. The UV19 cure is not inhibited by air. Master Bond UV19 cures well in the range of 20/50mw/cm² @ 365 nm in approximately 10/15 seconds. The Master Bond Polymer System UV19 is an optically clear, mobile liquid, with a viscosity of less than 300cps measured at 75°F. It is 100% reactive and does not emit any volatiles during cure. The UV cured material features an impressive tensile strength in excess of 800 psi and an elongation of more than 80%. It offers excellent adhesion to a wide range of substrates and is particularly suited for application for lamination, bonding and sealing to substrates with widely different thermal expansion coefficients such as flexible soft plastic films to more rigid materials including polyester films, metal foils and even glasses. Master Bond Polymer System UV19 is a very good electrical insulator. Other advantageous performance properties include low shrinkage during cure, high impact strength, superior resistance to thermal cycling, mechanical vibration and shock as well as a wide service temperature range of -60°F to + 250°F. Master Bond Polymer System UV19 also has very satisfactory long term resistance to water and other aggressive chemicals.
