Differential Double Coated PET Pressure Sensitive Adhesive Tape -- CHR® 8644

CHR 8644 is manufactured from thin polyester film with acrylic pressure sensitive adhesive on one side and silicone pressure sensitive adhesive on the other. The acrylic adhesive side is protected with a 50# siliconized paper liner and the silicone adhesive is protected with a clear polyester liner.
Features/Benefits
CHR 8644 is dimensionally stable and suitable for lamination and die cutting processes. The polyester support layer lies flat and resists curl or shrinkage after lamination. The silicone adhesive eliminates the need for messy silicone RTVs and primers, while the acrylic adhesive offers an efficient placement method for gaskets.
Availability
CHR 8644 is available in master rolls 33 m × 990 mm (36 yd × 39 in), and rolls can be slit in widths ranging from 6.35 mm to 990 mm (0.25 in to 39 in). CHR 8644 is available on a plastic core or cardboard core and can be sold in a reverse wound format with the acrylic adhesive (paper liner) on the exterior of the roll, or in standard format with the silicone adhesive (clear PET liner) on the exterior of the roll.
Applications
CHR 8644 can be used to adhere silicone foam, sponge, and rubber to various substrates including numerous plastics and metals. The differential coating is a practical solution for flex heater placement as they are often made with silicone rubber and placed on metal surfaces. The product construction is suitable for producing fully converted silicone gaskets for use across multiple industries including industrial, aerospace and automotive.
