The 3M™ Test Kit for Static Control Surfaces 701 is designed to measure the resistance of static control work surfaces and flooring.
The Model 701 Test Kit for Static Control Surfaces includes a hand-held megohmmeter and accessories. The kit has been specifically designed for evaluating the resistive characteristics of static control surface materials and testing installed surfaces as specified in ESD Association Standards.
The Instrument has four test functions which allow the user to measure the resistance of a static control surface at either of two test voltages, verify proper Instrument performance, and check the electrical continuity of the test set-up.
The Test Kit 701 contains a lightweight, user-friendly megohmmeter plus the components needed to easily and accurately test mats and other surfaces. All of the items are packaged in a foam-lined carrying case.
The kit is compatible with EOS/ESD Standard S4.1, “Work surfaces – Resistive Characterization”; and ESD S7.1, “Floor Materials – Resistive Characterization of Materials.” The meter has separate scales and test settings for measuring surface-to-ground and surface-to-surface resistance at two prescribed test voltages (10V and 100V), system continuity, and the open circuit test voltage. The scales are both color-coded and numbered, and very easy to read.
