3M Softback sanding sponge uses aluminum oxide as the abrasive material. Comes in a very fine abrasive grade. 3M incorporates this aluminum oxide material into the sanding sponge forming a grit of 120 to 180. The sanding sponge has a width of 4 1/2 in and length of 5 1/2 in.
