3M 1245 Tape is a copper foil tape featuring an embossed 1-ounce deadsoft copper foil backing and a pressure-sensitive acrylic adhesive. The embossed pattern allows for reliable metal-to-metal contact, enhancing electrical conductivity through the adhesive. The tape has a total thickness of 4.0 mil (0.101 mm) and a backing thickness of 1.4 mil (0.04 mm). It exhibits a breaking strength of 25 lb/in (44 N/10mm) and adhesion to steel of 35 oz/in (3.8 N/10mm). This tape is suitable for applications requiring excellent electrical conductivity, such as grounding and EMI shielding in various equipment and environments. It is solderable and resistant to oxidation and discoloration. The typical shielding effectiveness ranges from 75dB to 85dB across frequencies from 30 MHz to 1 GHz. The product is supplied on a removable liner for ease of handling and die-cutting, and is available in various widths and lengths.
