3M 1181 Tape is a copper foil tape featuring a 1-ounce deadsoft copper foil backing and a conductive pressure-sensitive acrylic adhesive. The tape measures 19.05 mm x 19.05 mm and has a total thickness of 2.6 mil (0.066 mm). It is designed for applications requiring excellent electrical conductivity, making it suitable for grounding and EMI shielding in various equipment and components. The tape is solderable and resistant to oxidation and discoloration. The typical breaking strength is 25 lb/in (44 N/10mm), and it exhibits an adhesion to steel of 35 oz/in (3.8 N/10mm). The electrical resistance through the adhesive is 0.005 ohm, and the tape has a shielding effectiveness ranging from 60 dB to 80 dB for frequencies between 30 MHz and 1 GHz. Additionally, it is UL-recognized for flame retardancy. The product is supplied on a removable liner for ease of handling and die-cutting.
