Silicone Molding Services
Service Detail from Elasto Proxy Inc.

Elasto Proxy offers silicone molding services at its Boisbriand, Quebec facility, and can also mold high-quality rubber parts made of neoprene and EPDM. A synthetic rubber, silicone is best known for its usefulness at both high and low service temperatures. This man-made elastomer is also valued for its low compression set and superior color stability. Silicone resists ozone, sunlight, oxidation, and weathering, and provides excellent electrical insulation and flexibility at low temperatures.
Standard Silicone Profiles and Custom-Fabricated Components
Elasto Proxy can mold one-piece silicone rubber parts, produce components with metal inserts inside, and join silicone extrusions with injection-molded corners. By applying their application knowledge and technical expertise, our solutions providers can also source silicone profiles and create custom-fabricated components that meet your specifications.
Molded SiliconeParts
Examples of molded silicone parts from Elasto Proxy include door seals for ovens, refrigerators, and freezers; medical tubing; and molded gaskets made from food-grade silicones. Silicone isn't ideal for all applications, however. Because of its chemical properties, this man-made elastomer isn't recommended for use with acids, alkalis, solvents, oil, or gasoline. Silicone also lacks strong resistance to abrasion and tearing, and is not suitable for applications that require high tensile strength.
Molded EPDM Parts
In addition to silicone molding services, Elasto Proxy can mold EPDM parts. This synthetic rubber is used in belts, hoses, and O-rings for the mass transit industry. Molded EPDM parts resist aging, ozone, and weathering; provide strong resistance to acids, alkalis, and some solvents; and remain flexible at low-temperatures. Valued for its color stability, EPDM also resists water and steam.
Silicone-EPDM Blends
Elasto Proxy can also design and custom-fabricate rubber parts made from silicone-EPDM blends. According to test results published by the IEEE, increasing the proportion of silicone improves a blend's electrical insulation. By increasing the weight percentage of EPDM, mechanical strength is increased instead. Contact Elasto Proxy to determine which rubber is right for your application, and to learn more about our rubber molding services and custom fabrication capabilities.
