Compounding and Extruding Services
Custom Processing Services offers compounding extruder and compounding system facilities for contract manufacturing at its Southeastern Pennsylvania campus.
Using a customizable-to-clie
The manufacturing equipment may be set up in multiple configurations to perform many different types of compounding and extruding. It can handle various viscosities and solids loading, from light viscosity to very heavy viscous materials. The dual feed system enables different ingredients to be added to the mixture at the correct process interval. Additionally, the multi heating and cooling zones allow for up to 10 in-process compounding settings.
Custom Processing Services can take a manufacturing idea from its inception all the way from development to 24/7 manufacturing. CPS can serve as an extension of other organizations' R&D departments, taking products from development into production.
Additional manufacturing capacity can also be realized by partnering with Custom Processing for compounding and extruding. Upstream value-added services can include intricate pre-mixing and blending. Pellets, strands and extrudates can then undergo further downstream processing such as grinding, micronizing, screening and packaging, all performed on the Custom Processing Services manufacturing campus.

Extruding Technology
Custom Processing Services utilizes Coperion ® twin screw co-rotating compounding extruders to perform its tolling services.
The ZSK 26 Mc incorporates brand new technology to the twin-screw co-rotating compounding extruders which provides up to 30% greater throughput rates than its competitors and the previous MegaCompounder Plus series class and therefore ensures maximum productivity.
The extremely energy efficient operation, the wide range of applications, and the associated great flexibility of the processing system are further advantages of the ZSK Mc Class.
The ZSK 26 Mc's modular barrels, elements, liners, and screw lengths allow for ultimate versatility and precise scale-up determination for all machines within the Mc18 class.
The extruder is well-suited for laboratory applications and small lot processing. It provides maximum performance on the smallest products quantities and is readily scalable for full-scale production.
