A high strength, moderate ductility material, Materion Brush Beryllium & Composites’ I-220H is an instrument grade beryllium that has been developed for applications in which a high micro-yield is required. Consisting of a minimum 98% beryllium, I-220H is produced through the consolidation of beryllium powder by hot isostatic pressing.
I-220H is useful for structural, instrumental and optical applications, and those requiring high resistance to plastic deformation at low stress levels. In fact, I-220H is used as a telescope support on space exploration satellites.

I-220H offers the best combination of high tensile strength, ductility and micro-yield strength of any grade of beryllium. I-220H’s micro-yield strength (amount of stress that produces one micro-inch of permanent strain) is typically 14 ksi.
